Rishab Shetty hails Youth, says Ken Karunaas "will be an asset to cinema"

Rishab Shetty also appreciated the writing and directing departments, stating that the film had a "nuanced depth" in it

Noted Kannada actor-director Rishab Shetty, who is busy with multiple projects, took his time out to watch Ken Karunaas' latest film Youth and praised the romantic entertainer. In a post on X, he said he was "smiling throughout an entire film" after a long time and called it a "heartfelt tribute dedicated to all parents."

The Kantara actor also appreciated the writing and directing departments, stating that the film had a "nuanced depth" in it. Every actor is brought to life so naturally on screen. Suraj Venjaramoodu sir, Devadarshini ma’am, and the entire friend's gang are an absolute joy to watch," he added, while also hailing the technical team.

"Special mention to music director GV Prakash, the DOP Viki, editor Nash, and producers Karuppaiah C Ram and Sulochana Kumar for trusting the vision," he said. In his parting line, Rishab Shetty said Ken Karunaas "will be an asset to cinema," laying down his hopes that he would make a mark in the industry.

Released in theatres on March 19, Youth follows the story of Praveen (Ken Karunaas), who has to navigate the ups and downs of high school romance as he tries to salvage his academic performance for the sake of his parents.

Anishma Anilkumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, and Priyanshi Yadav play female leads in the film which also has Abison Thevarasa, and Karen Vincent, among others playing supporting roles, besides Devadarshini and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film was met with positive reviews and earned over Rs 82 crores at the end of its box office run. Youth is currently streaming on Netflix.

Rishab Shetty, who was last seen in Kantara: Chapter 1, which received rave reviews and commercial success at the box office, has director Prasanth Varma’s much-anticipated Jai Hanuman coming up next. He is also set to take on the role of one of India’s most iconic rulers, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, in an upcoming historical drama directed by Sandeep Singh. Titled The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, it is slated for a worldwide release on January 21, 2027.
