Ken Karunaas' Youth is a catalyst for the debuts of many of its cast and crew. While Ken made his debut as a director and lead actor, another actor who made his debut is Abison Thevarasa, better known by his social media handle Chinna Thamizha.
Speaking at an event for the film, Abison said, "A lot of people wished for me to act in a film like this. Cinema has been a dream for me since I was a little kid. Many people wondered how a person born in London would get a chance here in Chennai, as people here struggle for chances. It was then I started an Instagram page called @chinnathamizha, to prove myself until I got a chance. There Ken messaged me and wanted to meet me when I came to Chennai. He told me, 'I am writing a movie. And whatever you do on Instagram, I want you to do the same thing in the film.' Then I measured my expectations, because this industry was new for me, and I had just met Ken."
He added, "When I came to Chennai and went to Ken's office, it was filled with people who were all lying down. I was initially skeptical and wondered how the next seven months of shooting would go. But that was the Ken and gang who made Youth what it is today, and I am happy to be included in that gang."
Youth was released on March 19, and went on to perform well in theatres in subsequent weeks. The cast of the film includes Anishma Anilkumar, Devadarshini, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Priyanshi Yadav, Meenakshi Dinesh.
