Recently, actor Suriya called on the team of the latest film Youth, marking his debut as a director and lead actor of Ken Karunaas, to congratulate them.
Sharing her star-struck moment, the film's leading lady, Anishma Anilkumar, wrote that she has been an admirer of the actor since her childhood. Taking to her X handle, she wrote, "Making me blush since 2005. From watching Strum Vizhi Sudare every morning before going to school, to sticking his posters on my wall and admiring him for the incredible actor and person he is… yes, finally I met him." (sic)
It is worth noting that actors Karthi and Silambarasan TR also called on the Youth team to congratulate them. Along with Ken and Anishma, the film also starred Suraj Venjaramoodu, Devadarshini, Meenakshi Dinesh, and Priyanshi Yadav, among others.
The coming-of-age comedy drama received mostly positive reviews upon its release on March 19. An excerpt from the CE review reads, "In Youth, Ken gets most things right and shines as a director, especially in the way he has extracted performances. While the kids are all right in this film, it is Suraj and Devadarshini who really steal the show in the last act with their restraint and subtlety."
GV Prakash Kumar, who has composed music for Asuran (2018) and Vaathi (2023), which featured Ken, composed music for Youth. The rest of the crew includes Viki as the cinematographer, Nash as the editor, Ramu Thangaraj as the art director, and Kalai Kingson as the stunt choreographer.
The Telugu version of Youth will have its theatrical release on March 26.
