As the sequel to Allu Arjun's much-celebrated Pushpa: The Rise hit theatres on December 5, the fan frenzy is high as audience have been anticipating this film for nearly three years now. The Sukumar directorial, Pushpa: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles.
The first film in the Pushpa franchise, which was released in 2021, stars Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, a coolie who rises in a syndicate that smuggles red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh. The film, and its sequel is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media.
Pushpa 2 also stars Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Dhananjaya, Sunil, and Ajay Ghosh in lead roles. Srikanth Vissa has written the dialogues for both films. The film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, editor Naveen Nooli and music composer Devi Sri Prasad. Sam CS has scored the background music for the sequel.
Allu Arjun went on to win the National Award for Best Actor for his performance as Pushpa Raj in Pushpa 2: The Rule. Devi Sri Prasad also won the National Award for Best Music Direction for the film.

Reports suggest that the makers of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule —Mythri Movie Makers—are said to be stuck in an unresolved deal with Prasad’s multiplex, one of the most noted theatres in Hyderabad.
The film’s production banner, Mythri Movie Makers, made the announcement on their X page, informing that the visually and hearing impaired audience can now enjoy the movie through The Greta App, which enables automatic closed captions and audio descriptions in the theatre.
"Thank you for considering me and giving me this wonderful experience," Sam wrote.
The hikes, which let the producers Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings take advantage of the hype around the film, apply from release day to as long as December 23.
According to a report by NTV, a complaint has been registered at the Jawahar Nagar police station after Allu Arjun used the word ‘army’ to describe his fans at a recent event.
“What did Devi gaaru even say? He said that we love him, but these days we have more complaints about his work. It is okay; we have a long journey. We don’t have any differences," the producers of the film said.
“Out of the 7/8 years of my career, the last 5 years being on this set almost made this set my home in the industry,” Rashmika Mandanna wrote in her note.
The film has been notoriously delayed. Initially scheduled for an August 15 release, the film was pushed to December due to shoot commitments.
Music composer Devi Sri Prasad openly fired on producers of Pushpa 2 for sidelining him in the film
