As the highly anticipated release of Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun approaches, a row has erupted over the steep rise in ticket prices in Telangana. The Telangana state government granted hikes with premiere show tickets capped at Rs 1,200. Regular show rates are set at Rs 531 for multiplexes and Rs 354 for single screens. This move has stirred widespread debate among cinephiles and fans of the Aarya actor. There’s been social media discourse on the hike of prices with some netizens terming this as “looting from fans.” Other cinephiles argued that the hike of prices for star-driven films will exhaust financial resources from the people stopping them from watching mid or small budget films.

In a significant development, a petition challenging the government order on ticket prices has been filed in the Telangana High Court. The hearing is scheduled for December 4, and the industry is keenly awaiting the verdict. While producers typically hold the right to set prices for their films, many expect the court to rule in favor of the film's makers. The pricing controversy isn’t confined to Telangana alone. Similar hikes are taking place in Andhra Pradesh too.

Meanwhile, excitement continues to build around the film’s release. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule promises intense drama, featuring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and Fahadh Faasil as the formidable antagonist.

The promotional campaign has been extensive, with the team traveling across India to engage with fans. With cinematography by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and editing by National Award-winner Naveen Nooli, Pushpa 2’s extended cast includes Sunil, Rao Ramesh, and Brahmaji. Produced under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film is set to hit screens on December 5 in major pan-Indian languages.
