Producer and actor RK Suresh has praised Soori's upcoming film Mandaadi. Speaking at the Parimala and Co audio launch event, the Tharai Thappattai actor declared that the film will be a blockbuster hit, connecting it with the success of Karuppu.

Written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendi of Selfie-fame, Mandaadi, which recently completed production, also stars Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Bala Saravanan and Achyuth Kumar in prominent roles.

Speaking about Mandaadi, RK Suresh said, "I watched footage from Soori's Mandaadi. Producer Elred Kumar showed it to me. It is extraordinary. The boat fight action sequences were just too good. Just as I predicted Karuppu's success a year ago, I am sure Mandaadi will become a blockbuster success."

Sachana Namidass, Ravindra Vijay, Ramachandran, and Aadukalam Murugadoss round out the cast of Mandaadi, which is backed by Elred Kumar under his RS Infotainment banner. Suhas plays the antagonist in the film, while Soori essays the role of the leader of a fishing expedition team.

Previously, the shooting of Mandaadi met a major roadblock in Ramanathapuram after a boat unexpectedly capsized, drowning two people and damaging camera equipment worth Rs 1 crore while filming a crucial scene in the sea.

The film's technical crew comprises music composer GV Prakash, cinematographer SR Kathir, editor Pradeep E Ragav and stunt choreographer Peter Hein. Apart from Tamil, Mandaadi will also release in Telugu. With shooting wrapped, the film is heading to post-production. A release date is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, RK Suresh had two releases last year, namely, Thalaivan Thalaivii and Vattakhanal. Soori and RK Suresh have worked together in films such as Marudhu, Ippadai Vellum, Sketch, Namma Veettu Pillai, and Viruman, among others.
