Ram's Paranthu Po and Sri Ganesh's 3BHK, both of which opened to positive reviews and promising initial numbers, witnessed a significant drop in collections on their fourth day, Monday.

Paranthu Po, starring Shiva and Mitul Ryan, had a decent three-day run, earning ₹2.6 crore by Sunday. However, as per reports on Sacnilk.com, Monday saw a sharp fall in collections, with early estimates pegging its day 4 India net at just ₹0.3 crore, bringing its four-day total to ₹2.9 crore. The nearly 74% dip from Sunday reflects a concerning weekday trend, despite the film’s warm reception among critics and urban audiences.

An excerpt from CE's review of Paranthu Po reads, "In a film about father-son bonding, it is easy to make the mother a one-note character, but Ram had other plans. Glory is the perfect representation of the multitasking mother. In the initial scenes, we only see her as a businesswoman who also wants to be a mother. Then, we see her as a woman who misses her family, who have abandoned her for marrying a man from another religion."

Meanwhile, 3BHK, led by Siddharth, Sarath Kumar, and Devayani, continues to perform better commercially. After grossing ₹5.2 crore in its opening weekend, the film added an estimated ₹0.58 crore on Monday (₹0.46 crore from Tamil and ₹0.12 crore from Telugu versions), taking its four-day India net to ₹5.78 crore. While 3BHK also experienced a steep 73% drop from Sunday, its overall lead remains significant.

An excerpt from CE's review of 3BHK reads, "3BHK could have worked brilliantly as a critique of a broken social system, about how it utterly failed the ever-expanding middle class. But, with its surgical warmth and calculated relatability, the treatment of the film makes it apparent that we are being sold an idea instead of being told a story."

Although both films started with positive momentum, sustaining audience interest through the weekdays seems to be the bigger challenge. Paranthu Po may benefit from word-of-mouth traction in the coming days, especially given its critical acclaim. But for now, 3BHK holds a commanding edge at the box office.
