Just weeks ago, Anupama Chopra, film critic and interviewer, did an interview with Ajith Kumar for The Hollywood Reporter India. In a recent interview for her channel with producers Vikramaditya Motwane, Archana Kalpathi, Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, the journalist has opened up about her off-camera experience with Ajith Kumar during the interview.

She revealed that Ajith Kumar's simplicity baffled her. "When I did an interview with Ajith Kumar in Dubai, there was nobody with him. I had a makeup person, but he doesn't even wear makeup," she explained. She also revealed that she was embarrassed to have a makeup artist when he didn't. "I was mortified because I had a makeup artist, but he was the superstar. He just brought a bag with him and changed in the corner. It was such a culture shock for me; I couldn't get over it. He even held the door open for me and other people, and I kept saying, 'Just don't, please.'"

Archana Kalpathi then added, "He is very sweet and simple."

Ajith Kumar is currently working on his 64th outing, tentatively titled AK64. He is reuniting with Adhik Ravichandran for the upcoming film. His last outing, Good Bad Ugly, was also helmed by Adhik.

In a recent press meet, Adhik confirmed that AK64 is gearing up to go on floors in February. He said, "Pre-production is almost over. We are currently on a recce scouting locations for the film. We plan to commence filming in February. It will be a very special film for me because Ajith sir has trusted me with another film after Good Bad Ugly. I am working on AK64 with that responsibility. It will be a very special film."

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar recently won Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025. His 2004 action film, Attagasam, was recently re-released in theatres.
