It is well known that actor and avid racer Ajith Kumar is reuniting with director Adhik Ravichandran once again after their latest hit Good Bad Ugly. While much details about the project has remained under wraps, Ajith has provided an update in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.
Noting that he won't be filming during the racing season from October to March, Ajith said, "I may start filming in a couple of months (for AK64) and by January, we should have an announcement."
Speaking at a recent event, Adhik Ravichandran revealed that AK64 will be much more than just fan service. He said, "Good Bad Ugly was made purely for the fans of Ajith sir. But AK64 won't be like that. It will be an action entertainer with a solid screenplay that will also pull in the family audience."
Earlier, in a conversation with The New Indian Express' Indulge, Ajith Kumar said he can still balance racing and films if he manages to "squeeze a film between the November to February period"; he can have releases every year.
Ajith's Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran starred Trisha, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, Tinnu Anand, BS Avinash and Raghu Ram. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers in association with T-Series Films, the film revolved around a retired gangster AK/Red Dragon (Ajith) who returns to his violent ways after his son is wrongfully convicted of a crime.
On the racing front, the actor had recently completed a successful racing season. The team participated in 24H Middle East Trophy in Dubai; 24H European Series in Mugello, Spa-Francorchamps, Misano, Paul Richard and Barcelona; Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe in Portimao, Estoril, Valencia, and Barcelona; GT4 European Series in Paul Ricard, Zandvoort, Spa, Misano, Nürburgring and Barcelona---26 races across two continents and four series.
