

Director Adhik Ravichandran has spilt details about the development of his sophomore collaboration with actor Ajith Kumar, AK64. Ajith's last theatrical outing, Good Bad Ugly, was helmed by Adhik.
Addressing the press in a meeting, Adhik revealed, "Pre-production is almost over. We are currently on a recce scouting locations for the film. We plan to commence filming in February. It will be a very special film for me because Ajith sir has trusted me with another film after Good Bad Ugly. I am working on AK64 with that responsibility. It will be a very special film."
Previously, speaking at an event organised by Galatta, Adhik said, "Good Bad Ugly was made purely for the fans of Ajith sir. But AK64 won't be like that. It will be an action entertainer with a solid screenplay that will also pull in the family audience."
Earlier, in a conversation with The New Indian Express' Indulge, Ajith Kumar confirmed that he will start working on his next in September. On films, he said he can still balance racing and films if he manages to "squeeze a film between the November to February period"; he can have releases every year. He added that he is planning to shoot his next film this November and is planning to get the film released around April/May 2026.
Ajith was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran's Good Bad Ugly. The film also starred Trisha, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, Tinnu Anand, BS Avinash and Raghu Ram.
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar's 2004 action film Attahasam is set for a re-release in theatres on November 28.
