Recently, Ajith Kumar spoke about his upcoming film, AK64, at the prestigious 24-hour Creventic Series in Barcelona, Spain. Speaking to India Today, the actor revealed, "The script for my next film is getting ready. I am bound by a contract. So, I need to wait for the official announcement to speak about it." Following this, Adhik Ravichandran has also revealed a key detail about his sophomore collaboration with the actor.

Speaking at the Galatta Golden Stars event, Adhik Ravichandran revealed that AK64 will be much more than just fan service. He said, "Good Bad Ugly was made purely for the fans of Ajith sir. But AK64 won't be like that. It will be an action entertainer with a solid screenplay that will also pull in the family audience." While it was only being speculated that Adhik and Ajith's second film together is AK64, the filmmaker has confirmed the news at the recent event.

Earlier, in a conversation with The New Indian Express' Indulge, Ajith Kumar confirmed that he will start working on his next in September. On films, he said he can still balance racing and films if he manages to "squeeze a film between the November to February period"; he can have releases every year. He added that he is planning to shoot his next film this November and is planning to get the film released around April/May 2026.

Ajith was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran's Good Bad Ugly. The film also starred Trisha, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, Tinnu Anand, BS Avinash and Raghu Ram.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar's 2004 action filmAttahasam is set for a re-release in theatres on October 31.
