The new single, ‘The Po Po Song’, from Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s upcoming comedy-entertainer Son of Sardaar 2 was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. It is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, sung by Guru Randhawa and features lyrics by Armaan Sharma.
The song is a redux version of the original song from Son of Sardaar which was composed by Himesh Reshammiya. It opens with the rhythmic face movement step, which was popularised in the first part. The music video features Ajay, Ravi Kishan and Mrunal dancing to the beats along with other members from the cast. The music has a peppy feel, and Ajay does some funky new steps to match the beats as others follow on. It is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.
Son of Sardaar 2 has been directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and is written by Jagdeep Singh Sidhu and Mohit Jain. It also stars Mukul Dev, Chunky Panday, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles.
Previously, a song from the film, ‘Pehla Tu Duja Tu’, was shared by the makers. It featured Ajay dancing only through his fingers, which grabbed attention on social media.
The 2012 film was a remake of SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Maryada Ramanna (2010) and told the story of Jaswinder, played by Ajay, who falls in love with Sukhmit, played by Sonakshi Sinha, which leads to an angry exchange between him and her family. It was directed by Ashwini Dhir and also starred Sanjay Dutt.
Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Son of Sardaar 2 is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, NR Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. It is set to be released in theatres on July 25.
