The upcoming action film, Last Resort, is all set to star Mason Gooding in the lead role. The film is helmed by Luis Prieto, from a script penned by Eric Champnella and Grant Thompson.
The film is backed by Thunder Road and Mike Gabrawy. Last Resort will feature college kids on spring break occupying a resort. A 25-year-old freshman and former marine (Gooding) is forced to overcome his deep PTSD issues to save his friends and stay alive when cartel killers take over the resort. Production for the film is currently happening in Spain.
Gooding was last seen in Heart Eyes, a horror-romantic comedy from Screen Gems which released for Valentine's Day 2025. Up next, he will be seen alongside Olivia Wilde in I Want Your Sex, helmed by Gregg Araki. He also has Kevin Hart's 72 Hours for Netflix in the pipeline. Gooding is best known for his performance in the Scream franchise. the seventh instalment of which is slated for February 2026. Also to his credit is the acclaimed Hulu series, Love, Victor.
