Aditya Hasan, who shot to instant limelight with his web series 90s - A Middle Class Biopic, is the producer for the upcoming breezy entertainer Little Hearts that stars Mouli and Shivani Nagaram in lead roles. In a recent media interaction, Aditya Hasan spoke about his upcoming production that will arrive in theatres on September 5.
Aditya Hasan recalls being introduced to writer-director Sai Marthand through Mouli, who first heard the Little Hearts concept, and asked Marthand to pitch it to Aditya. The 90s director states that he was inspired by the success of Malayalam film Premalu in Telugu states to pursue Little Hearts. He added, “When I saw Premalu’s success in Telugu states, and how the audience were enjoying a story like in it theatres, I felt we too can make such simple films within our nativity. 6 months later, Mouli called with this idea. Within 40 minutes of the narration, I knew I had to back this project.”
Talking about the look and feel of Little Hearts, Aditya said, “It’s my style of storytelling — relatable story, close to life — even though the writing is entirely Sai Marthand’s. Further talking about the flavour of Little Hearts, Aditya clarified, “There are no big twists here, no big sentiments. It’s not a grand love story either. It’s a simple slice of life capturing the college phase, how youngsters behave immaturely and fret over small things.” Addressing the comparisons to his own 90s, Aditya noted, “The comparisons to 90s is good, because the zone is similar. Here too, we have no twists, only conversations. So 90s comparisons will bring in audience to theatres on opening day.”
Aditya clarified that his involved in the project was strictly as a producer. “I am not part of the writing team; I just tried my level best to make this as a producer within a set budget. As an audience member, I enjoyed it a lot,” he added.
Little Hearts is being released in nearly 170 screens, by Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati.
