Kannappa makers unveil special teaser ft. Mohanlal

The upcoming fantasy drama starring Vishnu Manchu in the titular role is slated for theatrical release on June 27

A few weeks ago, the makers of Vishnu Manchu’s much-anticipated Kannappa announced June 27 as the release date for their film. On Wednesday, the makers unveiled a special teaser featuring Mohanlal, on the occasion of the veteran actor’s birthday.

Mohanlal will be seen playing the role of a fierce warrior named Kirata in the film. The newly unveiled teaser comprises of several build-up shots of the actor, before establishing him in wide shots as Mohanlal walks with great swagger to confront the film’s protagonist Kannappa. 

A few days ago, the makers had released a special poster featuring Akshay Kumar, who plays Lord Shiva in the film. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa boasts of a massive ensemble cast including Akshay and Prabhas in special cameos, and actors like Kajal Aggarwal, Madhoo, Preity Mukundhan, Brahmaji and Surekha Vani playing significant roles.

Vishnu Manchu has also penned the story and screenplay for the film, while his father and veteran actor Mohan Babu is producing the film, besides playing a major role in the film. The film has been jointly bankrolled under 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment. 

Popular choreographers like Prabhudeva, Brinda and Ganesh are onboard for the film. The technical crew also inclduees Sheldon Chau helming the cinematography and Kecha Khamphakdee as the stunts master. Stephen Devassy is the music director. 

Mohanlal has already had two big releases this year, with L2: Empuraan and Thudarum.
