Karthi hails Suriya's Karuppu in his review: 'What else do you need...'

Karthi shared his first review for his brother Suriya's latest film Karuppu, which released on Friday, a day after shows were cancelled owing to pending financial settlements. Hailing the action drama, Karthi wrote on his X handle, "Idhukkumela Enna pa venum...summa therikkudu. Anbaana fans podu vediya. Karuppaa. (What else do you need besides this? It's a blast. Anbaana fans, light the fireworks!"

The Vaa Vaathiyaar actor had watched the film along with director RJ Balaji, Trisha, who plays the female lead, and composer Sai Abhyankkar at Rohini Cinemas in Chennai amidst a sea of cheerful fans.

Meanwhile, first reviews for Karuppu have been highly positive with fans and audiences praising Suriya's performance and RJ Balaji's screenplay.

With Suriya playing the role of Saravanan (a reference to the actor's real name) and Trisha as Preethi, the cast of Karuppu also includes Indrans, Natty Natraj, Mansoor Ali Khan, Swasika, Sshivadha, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy, among others.

Karuppu marks Sai Abhyankkar's sophomore Tamil project, which features lyrics by Pa Vijay, Vivek, Vishnu Edavan, Asal Kolaar, Adesh Krishna, and Arun Srinivasan. The crew of the film includes cinematographer GK Vishnu, editor R Kalaivanan, production designer Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt choreographers Anbariv and Vikram Mor. Aravendaraj Baskaran is serving as the executive producer on the film.
