Karuppu: Dhanush, Karthik Subbaraj, GV Prakash and more express support for makers on release delays

After facing multiple hurdles, the Suriya headliner Karuppu, was set to release today. But shows throughout the day have been cancelled worldwide, due to unknown reasons. Several personalities from the Tamil film industry have since expressed their support for Suriya, director RJ Balaji, and the producers.

Taking to his X handle, Dhanush wrote, "Suriya sir and Karuppu deserve a proper theatrical release. I really hope the issues get resolved and the film releases in theatres soon."

Director Venkat Prabhu, who has directed Suriya in Massu Engira Masilamani (2013), wrote, "Karuppu deserves to be experienced on the big screen. Hoping everything falls into place soon and audiences get to celebrate the film in theatres the way it truly deserves. God is there."

Actor-music composer GV Prakash Kumar, who worked with Suriya on Sudha Kongara's Soorarai Pottru (2020), wrote, "In this Challenging time for team Karuppu and Suriya Sir. Hoping everything gets sorted soon for a successful release. We are with u suriya sir. Don’t support piracy."

Retro (2025) director Karthik Subbaraj, wrote, "Team Karuppu will cross all hurdles and sure it will be a Huge Blockbuster!! More power to Suriya sir, RJ Balaji, SR Prabhu and whole team."

Music composer Santhosh Narayanan also offered his support for the team behind Karuppu, by writing, "Sending our love, prayers and full support to team Karuppu at these testing times. Stay strong Machi RJ Balaji. We will celebrate with the blessings of Karuppusamy wherever you serve us."
