Vishnuu Vishal's Gatta Kusthi opened to massive commercial success and positive reviews when it released in 2022, thanks to the engaging storyline and powerful performances from Vishnuu and Aishwarya Lekshmi. Four years later, the film's recall value remains strong, and one of the scenes that continue to surface on social media is the film's intermission sequence where Keerthi (Aishwarya) reveals her true identity while thrashing a bunch of goons in her signature style.
With director Chella Ayyavu bringing back the pair for the sequel, Vishnuu Vishal, who was also the producer of the original, recollected memories from the iconic fight sequence and revealed that he spent close to Rs 1.3 crore for the scene.
"In my entire career, I think the interval block of Gatta Kusthi was the one I spent my maximum money on. For a fight led by a woman, we spent close to Rs 1.2-1.3 crore. That is how confident we were. When I saw the output, it made me very happy. My film had such a huge set, but it was unfortunately not for me," laughed Vishnuu Vishal, sharing details in a recent interview.
