Vishnuu Vishal is currently awaiting the release of his highly anticipated film Gatta Kusthi 2, which reunites him with director Chella Ayyavu after the success of the first installment in 2022. The project marks a significant milestone in the actor-producer's career, as it is the first sequel he has been a part of.

In a recent interview with Galatta, Vishnuu Vishal reflected on the sequel opportunities he missed earlier in his career and shared his thoughts on finally stepping into a franchise with Gatta Kusthi 2. "While there have been opportunities to make a sequel for many of my films in my career, none of them materialised. For example, we had ideas for Indru Netru Naalai 2, Mundasupatti 2, Ratsasan 2, and even FIR 2. FIR 2 was the only sequel from my production banner, but due to some reasons, we couldn't take it forward. When every sequel was getting missed, I became very upset," he said.

Vishnuu Vishal further shared how they never thought about or conceptualised a sequel for Gatta Kusthi. "One day, director Chella Ayyavu wanted to narrate a story. While his story was nice, I told him that I've never had a part 2 for any of my films and asked him if they could make Gatta Kusthi 2. We brainstormed together and formed this," he said.
