Director Gautham Vasudev Menon's long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram faced a setback recently, with investors appealing against Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy's order permitting its release on June 15, Monday. According to The Hindu, on May 21, investors K Premkumar and K Punniyamoorthy filed appeals against the single-bench judge's order allowing its release at the Madras High Court. Back then, through his legal representative, Gautham informed the court of an attempt to release Dhruva Natchathiram on June 18, Thursday, thus earning more time to settle his financial issues with the investors.

Subsequently, justices V Lakshminarayanan and GR Swaminathan postponed the hearing regarding the appeal from the investors to June 02, Tuesday. According to the latest report, the justices have listened to the arguments from both sides and reserved orders.

In layman terms, this means that they are likely to announce a decision soon and that the film is in legal limbo. It is not allowed to release in theatres until the justices make the final announcement regarding whether the investors can stop it or whether the film's makers are allowed to have it released on June 15 or 18 or at a later date.

Dhruva Natchathiram also stars Ritu Varma, Parthiban, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Simran, Vinayakan, Divya Dharshini, Munna Simon, Vamsi Krishna, Salim Baig, Sathish Krishnan, and Maya S Krishnan, among others. It has been a couple of years since the release of the trailer for the film. Unfortunately, however, the financial dispute between the director and the investors contributed to an indefinite delay in its release. It remains to be seen whether the film will see the light of day later this year.

Meanwhile, Vikram has one film with his Iru Mugan filmmaker Anand Shankar and another project with '96 and Meiyazhagan director C Prem Kumar.
