Earlier, we reported that Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are reuniting after a long time for a film titled Ranabaali, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The film brings the couple back together after collaborations on 2018's Geetha Govindam and the subsequent year's Dear Comrade. It is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under their Mythri Movie Makers banner.
On Sunday, Mythri Movie Makers announced that Rashmika Mandanna has completed shooting for her portions in the upcoming film. The production banner shared the update by dropping a behind-the-scenes video where Rashmika can be seen embracing her Ranabaali director Rahul Sankrityan and co-star Vijay Deverakonda. In the caption, the producer wrote, "It's a wrap for Jayamma. We will dearly miss you on sets Rashmika Mandanna." The producer also revealed that a full version of the song, 'Endhayya Saami,' will come out in the near future.
Recently, they unveiled a teaser suggesting a powerful character for Vijay Deverakonda. The story follows his character who stands up against an oppressive ruler named Theodore Hector in India before Independence with courage and fierce determination. Set in the nineteenth century, Ranabaali is inspired by real events that happened during the British empire. The teaser starts with a piece of text that reads, "In memory of eight million Indian lives lost under British rule." At the time of writing this, the teaser has garnered more than 13 million views in four days of its release on YouTube.
The upcoming film also stars Arnold Vosloo in an important role as Sir Theodore Hector. Pramod Tammineni is credited as a writer for it. On the technical front, it has music by Ajay-Atul, cinematography by Nirav Shah, editing by Karthika Srinivas R, and production design by Shivam Rao Nagasani.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandana's first film together after their recent marriage, Ranabaali is slated for an October 16 release in theatres.
