Ravi Teja and Priya Bhavani Shankar played the lead pair in the successful film Irumudi. Shiva Nirvana directed the film, while Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar produced it under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. The film was released on August 11 in theatres and went on to become a huge success. It is still running well at the box office.
The story revolves around the bond between a father and daughter. The alcoholic father takes Ayyappa deeksha and stays away from alcohol for 40 days. On the other hand, the daughter has to tell her father everything that happens in her daily life, whether she is at school or at home. Priya Bhavani Shankar played Kaveri, the wife of the alcoholic father.
Shiva Nirvana narrated the story with a strong emotional touch, with most of the scenes shot in real locations. The film was extensively shot in Sileru, a small town located on the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border. Irumudi has now entered its fourth week in theatres and is continuing to perform well, but the makers have decided to bring the film to OTT soon.
Irumudi, one of the most successful films of 2026, is going to stream on Netflix from September 18. Apart from Telugu, the film will also be available in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
It has emerged as one of the best films in Ravi Teja’s career and is among the films that have crossed the Rs 200 crore mark this year. Made on a budget of around Rs 45 crore, the film has collected nearly Rs 208.18 crore gross in India after 24 days in its theatrical run. It is the fourth film to enter the Rs 200 crore club after Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, The Raja Saab and Peddi. Considering its budget and theatrical collection, Irumudi stands out as one of the most successful films of the year.
Ravi Teja delivered his best performance as Trinadh in the film, while Baby Nakshatra played his daughter Manemma. Priya Bhavani Shankar’s performance as Kaveri was also appreciated. Sai Kumar played Guruswamy, while several young and upcoming artistes appeared in other roles. Swasika played a school teacher and delivered a good performance in the film.
