It has been reported that Madras High Court Judge Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy passed an order that facilitates the release of filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon's Dhruva Natchathiram on June 15 or before this date. While the Vikram starrer has long been delayed thanks to the financial issues concerning Gautham Menon, the judge's order has brought some respite to the filmmaker.
On Friday, Gautham shared his thoughts about the recent order and reflected on his arduous journey with the film. In his post, the filmmaker argued that some attempted to not only keep Dhruva Natchathiram from hitting theatres, thus affecting over a hundred members, but also destroy his career. "Another man, my legal counsel, Senior Advocate Abdul Hameed, assured me there's a way ahead and walked me towards it. And now a very important man, Hon'ble Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy has paved the way for me and finally there's light at the end of the tunnel," the director wrote.
Soon after his comments, a different social media post earlier this Saturday fuelled speculation about the imminent release of the film. A lawyer named Prabhu shared a photograph featuring himself with Gautham on Instagram and revealed that the court has ordered that the film be released on May 27, Wednesday. The lawyer also tagged the filmmaker in his post, but the latter is yet to respond to it, and the film's makers are yet to confirm the release date.
The filmmaker is supposed to settle his dues to help ensure the release of his long-delayed film before the court-permitted date. In the meantime, he is reportedly planning to hold discussions with stakeholders, which include theatre owners, about the film's release. According to the court order, even if the Vikram starrer cannot hit theatres on or before the aforementioned date, the parties concerned will be able to approach it for a time extension.
