Recently, we reported about Vikram starring in an upcoming film, directed by his Iru Mugan (2016) filmmaker Anand Shankar. Produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, the upcoming film also stars Riya Shibu and Shammy Thilakan. It is worth noting that Riya Shibu produced Vikram's last film, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, which hit theatres in March last year. The film is yet to have a title and is tentatively titled Chiyaan 63 as of now.
On Sunday, the makers of the Vikram starrer revealed that its title will be announced at 6:03 pm on Monday, coinciding with the special occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi.
On the technical front, the upcoming film has composer Santhosh Narayanan. In the latest announcement post, Sathya Jyothi Films has tagged cinematographer RD Rajasekar and multihyphenate Gopi Prasanna, who also works as a production designer, and costume designer-stylist Poornima Ramaswamy.
The makers are yet to announce any other information about the film, including details about its story and additional cast. It is expected that they will make those announcements alongside the title on Vinayaka Chaturthi.
Recently, Anand Shankar dropped on social media a new still of Vikram smoking what looks like a beedi that excited the actor's fans. In the comments section of the director's post, some of them said that Chiyaan 63 might be a mass masala film that pays homage to Vikram's stardom, with users calling it "fanboy sambavam".
Earlier, Anand and Vikram collaborated on 2016's Iru Mugan. The film hit theatres in 2016 and received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, although it fared well at the worldwide box office. Reports say that Iru Mugan earned a gross collection of about 100 crore at the global box office.
Vikram's upcoming films also include the long-delayed Dhruva Natchathiram, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
