After significant delays, Pradeep Ranganathan's futuristic sci-fi romantic drama Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) is all set for a February release in theatres worldwide. According to reports, the makers are striving to ensure that their film hits the screens worldwide on February 12 or 13, ahead of Valentine's Day. With the film set to go for its censor certificate process soon, a confirmation on its release date will be known in the upcoming days.
Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film was originally scheduled to hit screens on September 18 last year. However, the makers then chose to push the release to October 17 for Deepavali. Ahead of its scheduled date, the makers decided to push the release once again as Dude, Pradeep's film with debutant Keerthiswaran was also scheduled to hit theatres on the same day. "Despite our best efforts to coordinate with Mythri Movies, we couldn't find common ground and we believe it's wiser to let both films shine without overlap," the makers said, while noting that LIK would be released on December 18. But the film was postponed once again.
The film has generated excitement among fans as it features Pradeep Ranganthan, who until now, has a 100 per cent success record in the Tamil film industry. Every single film of his until now has emerged a success, with his most recent film Dude achieving major success by crossing the Rs 100 crore mark.
LIK also stars Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Yogi Babu, Gouri Kishan, Seeman, Shah Ra, Mysskin, Anandraj, and Sunil Reddy, among others. It is backed by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures, as well as SS Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio.
On the technical front, the film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Ravi Varman and Sathyan Sooryan, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
