Pradeep Ranganathan has witnessed tremendous rise within six years of entering the film industry. While his first directorial Comali (2019) put him in the spotlight, Love Today (2022) propelled him to fame, earning him fame across all audiences, especially the youth for being able to connect with them. This year alone, Pradeep Ranganathan has already had one release — Ashwath Marimuthu's Dragon, and is having two more in the pipeline — debutant Keerthiswaran's Dude for October 17 and Vignesh Shivan's Love Insurance Kompany for December 18 release.

In a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter India's Anupama Chopra, the director-revealed his massive plan for his upcoming directorial, stating his interest in being a part of unique and never-before-seen films. "When I was not in cinema, I used to look at emerging heroes and wonder why they weren't interested in creating unique films and wasting their time working on simlar genre films. They have the potential to do something different and take Tamil cinema to a whole new level," he said, expressing his desire to make a film that's unexplored in the industry if he achieves the desired popularity, market and gains a solid budget.

"After Love Today, I was looking to scale up and started working on a science fiction film, but it was taking time. It was then that I received the opportunity to act in LIK which was set in the future. Vignesh Shivan's narration and vision for the film made me say yes. No one has done such a movie in Tamil cinema. This is also a romantic film, but after LIK, I will break away and start picking projects that I would want to do," he added.

Sharing his next game plan, Pradeep noted that he would direct and act in a sci-fi film which will be original and unique, yet relatable. "It'll be a fictional story, very unpredictable and something that audiences won't expect from me," he said.
