Sushmitha Bhat, who is making her mark across multiple languages, is set for a major leap in Telugu cinema, landing a role opposite actor Nagarjuna in his milestone 100th film. The project also features Tabu, who will be reuniting with Nagarjuna for the first time since 1998’s Aavida Maa Aavide.
“Pairing opposite a superstar like Nagarjuna is, of course, a big break,” she says of the Ra Karthik directorial. “I’m almost done shooting, with just a few portions left. It’s been a wonderful experience,” she adds.
The actor shares that while Natyam introduced her to Telugu cinema through dance, this yet-to-be-titled film marks her first major acting breakthrough opposite a star. Produced by Annapurna Studios, the film also features Aishwarya Rajesh. The Made in Korea director is, this time, centring his film on a father-daughter relationship, and the project is yet to receive its title.
Reportedly, the makers will use de-aging technology to portray Nagarjuna’s character at various ages. The film’s music will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
