

Veteran producer RB Choudhary has passed away after being involved in a car crash in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The cause of the crash and the state of further members involved in it, is not known yet.
RB Choudhary has been producing films since 1988 under his Super Good films banner. His first Tamil production came with Pudhu Vasantham (1990), which was the debut of director Vikraman. He received a Tamil Nadu State Film award for the film. The producer later backed the directorial debut venture of KS Ravikumar, Puriyada Pudir (1990).
He went on to produce Cheran Pandiyan (1991), Oor Mariyadhai (1992), Gokulam (1993), Nattamai (1994), Poove Unakkaga (1996), Sundara Purushan (1996), Mr Romeo (1996), Suryavamsam (1997), Thullatha Manamum Thullum (1999), Aanandham (2001), Keerthi Chakra (2006), Jilla (2014), Godfather (2021), and most recently in Maareesan (2025).
Beyond Vikraman and KS Ravikumar, the producer also introduced actor Livingston, director Rasu Madhuravan, director S Ezhil, director Perarasu, and Rajakumaran.
RB Choudhary has backed films with Sarath Kumar, Vijay, and Venkatesh, which where well received by the audiences.
For his work in Tamil Cinema he has been a recipient of seven Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
The producer has also been the recipient of the Cinema Express awards in four different occasions. He won the award in 1994 for Nattamai, then in 1997 for Suryavamsam, later in 1998 for Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen, and in 2001 for Aanandham.
His sons, Jiiva and Jithan Ramesh are established actors themselves. Jiiva has appeared in films produced by Super Good Films such as Thithikudhe (2003), Keerthi Chakra (2006), E (2006), Kacheri Arambam (2010), Rowthiram (2011), and Kalathil Santhipom (2021). Meanwhile, Ramesh has appeared in Pillaiyar Theru Kadaisi Veedu (2011), produced by his father.
Reportedly the accident took place at 3 pm, today (April 5). He is set to be transported back to Chennai on Wednesday, April 6.
