Speculation around Krithi Shetty’s Bollywood debut as a lead has been doing the rounds lately, especially after reports suggested that the actor might be paired opposite Tiger Shroff in a film directed by Milap Milan Zaveri. However, Krithi has now clarified that while conversations have happened, the project is far from locked.
In a recent interaction with the Hindustan Times, the actor confirmed that she has indeed been approached for Hindi films, including the much-talked-about one, but stressed that no paperwork has been signed yet. She made her acting debut with a supporting role in Super 30.
Having spent the last six years building a steady career in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Krithi admits that Hindi films have always been on her wishlist. Her frequent appearances in Mumbai over the past few months only fuelled speculation that she was preparing for her big Hindi launch.
Addressing the chatter, she explained, “I have had a few offers, but sometimes the dates didn’t align. Also, the Hindi film industry functions very differently. They usually plan and shoot schedules in one stretch, whereas in the South, it’s more staggered. Because of that, things didn’t work out, or the projects didn’t feel right as my first Hindi film at that point.”
That said, the actor is clearly enthusiastic about the idea of entering Bollywood. “Since I was born and brought up in Mumbai, working in Hindi has always felt very natural to me,” she shared. “I grew up speaking Hindi, unlike Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam, which I had to learn later. Even during my acting workshops, everything was in Hindi, so the process felt easier and quicker. There’s something very fresh and exciting about working in a language I completely understand—I know the words and their meanings instinctively. Hopefully, it will all fall into place soon.”
On the work front, Krithi was originally set to have three releases in December 2025, but all of them have now been postponed. She currently has Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar, Pradeep Ranganathan’s LIK and Ravi Mohan’s Genie lined up.
