Following the tremendous performance of its Malayalam version at the box office, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has now released with dubs in Telugu and Tamil. Director Girish AD's film, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, has reportedly grossed more than 200 crore from theatres worldwide, and trade experts expect it to become the new industry hit in Malayalam. Meanwhile, following its release in Tamil, Kamal Haasan met the team behind the film and congratulated them on its box office success.
On Saturday, team BKU shared a video where Kamal can be seen interacting with the film's cast, director and producers. "A truly special moment for the entire Bethlehem Kudumba Unit team! Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan sir met the team, appreciated the tremendous success of the film in Malayalam, and shared his warm wishes for its Tamil journey," shared distributor Future RunUp Films. The distributor added, "When appreciation comes from a legend like Kamal sir, it becomes a moment to cherish forever. From Malayalam success to the Tamil audience the journey continues! Thank you, Kamal sir, for the love, appreciation and wishes."
Directed by Girish AD from a screenplay he has written with his Premalu co-writer Kiran Josey, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit tells an age-gap love story between Ashley (Mamitha) and Justin (Nivin Pauly). When Ashley comes back home from Ireland, a wedding in their neighbourhood rekindles her old romance with Justin. Fahadh Faasil, Kamal's co-star in Vikram, is also one of the film's producers.
The film also stars Premalu actors such as Sangeeth Prathap and Shyam Mohan, in addition to Roshan Shanavas, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Srinda, and Bindu Panicker, among others. Speaking about his meeting with Ulaganayagan, Shyam Mohan shared a picture featuring him with the superstar and wrote, "Today, I met Cinema. A moment I’ll cherish forever. Kamal Haasan sir, my forever inspiration, my movie god!"
