Kavin's next with director Ram Sangaiah begins production

The upcoming untitled film, starring Kavin, will be backed by S Lakshman Kumar and Venkatesh of Prince Pictures for the second time after Thandatti

We had reported back in July 2025 about Kavin and director Ram Sangaiah joining hands for his next film. On the occasion of New Year, the Thandatti director took to his social media handles to announce the beginning of production for the film.

The upcoming untitled film will be backed by S Lakshman Kumar and Venkatesh of Prince Pictures for the second time after Thandatti.

More details about the cast, crew and other details are yet to be announced. Prince Pictures has previously backed several acclaimed films including Singam 2DevSardarKaariRun Baby RunLubber Pandhu and upcoming films Mr XMannangatti since 1960 and Sardar 2.

Thandatti, which revolves around an old woman's Thandatti (a big earring worn by elderly women), which goes missing during her funeral procession, stars Pasupathy and Rohini in the lead roles, along with Vivek Prasanna and Ammu Abhirami. Upoon release in 2023, the film received positive reviews from audiences and critics.

Kavin, who was last seen in Mask, directed by Vikarnan Ashok. He starred alongside Andrea Jeremiah, who also produced the film under The Show Must Go On banner alongside SP Chokkalingam's Black Madras Films label, whereas Vetri Maaran presented it through Grass Root Film Company. The film followed Kavin's character, Velu, who makes morally dubious decisions while hiding under his private detective facade. 

Besides this upcoming movie, Kavin also working on Vishnu Edavan's debut directorial Hi, where he shares screen with Nayanthara for the first time. He also has a film with Priyanka Mohan, directed by Ken Royson.
