It was announced last year that Nayanthara and Kavin would collaborate on a film for the first time, headlined by debut director Vishnu Edavan. The latest update is that the film has been titled Hi.
Vishnu Edavan, who worked as an assistant director with Lokesh Kanagaraj, is also known for his songwriting skills.
On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Rajesh Shukla, edited by Philomin Raj, music by Jen Martin, and art and stunt direction by Sekar B and Dinesh Kasi, respectively. Hi, marks the fourth collaboration between Jen and Kavin, with their previous works being Dada (2023), Bloody Beggar (2024), and Kiss (2025). Philomin, meanwhile, is a regular in Lokesh's films and is now a part of his protege's directorial debut.
After making an appearance in the Netflix film Test alongside Madhavan and Siddharth, she will turn a goddess once again in the sequel to Mookuthi Amman, directed by Sundar C. That aside, she has a big lineup including big-ticket films such as Patriot, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Kavin, last seen in Satish Krishnan's Kiss, is next in the film Mask, directed by debutant Vikarnan Ashok, which features Andrea in a prominent role.
