Rajinikanth recently met with a sanitation worker who turned in lost gold upon discovery. Sanitation worker Padma, was working in T Nagar, when she found 45 sovereigns of gold. She then turned it in to the police promptly.

Padma and her family later met actor Rajinikanth at his residence. The actor appreciated her for her actions, and according to some reports even gifted a piece of gold jewellery and a cash reward for her actions.

Rajinikanth completed 50 years in cinema in 2025. The actor was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie.

He is currently working on Jailer 2, a sequel to the 2023 film, Jailer. Director Nelson returns to helm the sequel.

Rajinikanth will also collaborate with Kamal Haasan for a yet to be titled film. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 173, Kamal backs the film under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner, with Cibi Chakravarthy, known for directing the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Don (2022), directing the film.
