Vignesh Shivan is currently promoting his latest directorial, LIK (Love Insurance Kompany), starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in lead roles. In a recent interview with Behindwoods, the director addressed the viral "normal people" comments that drew him and his wife, Nayanthara, flak a few months ago.

For the unversed, the actor-director couple hosted an event for their sanitary napkin brand, Femi9, inviting influencers to promote the brand. A video of their manager controlling the unruly crowd, saying, "Please cooperate; they're not normal people," went viral. Many of the influencers posted videos of the mismanagement at the event and condemned giving the couple a superiority status by saying they're not normal people.

Now, the director clarified, "He actually said, 'We're not normal people; we are influencers.' It was his way of telling them to behave appropriately, as those who had come there were not mere common men but influencers. Those who published the video online changed "we are" to "they are" and twisted the tale for the sake of likes and views. We then reached out to the one who posted the video, and he requested us to let the video be because it was garnering a lot of views."

Vignesh Shivan's LIK stars SJ Suryah, Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, and more. The film revolves around a man’s search for love in a world where relationships have become increasingly techno-centric and transactional.

On day 6, LIK has earned nearly Rs 32 crores in India alone. However, the film opened to mixed reviews. Music composer Anirudh has once again reunited with director Vignesh for LIK. The crew of the film also includes Ravi Varman as the director of photography and Pradeep E Ragav as the editor.
