On Saturday, a day after the release of Vignesh Shivan's long-delayed fifth directorial, LIK, the director took to his Instagram story to pen a note urging fans to avoid posting clips from the film on social media. However, on his own Instagram stories, the director himself shared two clips from the film.

The note read, "Pls stop posting videos on insta. This movie is done with the belief on the audience who enjoy a fresh theatrical experience. Pls urge you to only experience the movie in theatres. Thank you for the overwhelming love and a terrific response."

Further, clips he shared featured (spoiler) SJ Suryah recreating the iconic dance choreo of the 'Mayiliragae' song. Another clip featured the visuals of the 'Enakkena Yaarum Illaye' song from the film.

LIK stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, and SJ Suryah in lead roles. Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj and Sunil Reddy, among others, play supporting roles.

LIK is set in 2040, where a company dares to insure love in a world where anything and everything can be insured. A man's app predicts the future of a relationship by calculating risks and even controls them. Until he experiences love for himself, the voice behind it thinks it's just data. The system starts tearing his own relationship apart when it labels it as a failure. He finds that the programme manipulates love rather than just predicting it. He now has to decide between the heart and the purest kind of love he can't stifle and the 2040 system that everyone believes in.

Upon release, the film received mixed reviews. An excerpt from our CE review of the film read, "Love Insurance Kompany introduces a lot of promising ideas only to suffer a dramatic fall, more dramatic than the film itself. Like Gen Z films that make token cultural references, LIK has refurbished the overdone social media interface with a specious futurism."

Music composer Anirudh once again reunites with director Vignesh for LIK. The crew of the film also includes Ravi Varman as the director of photography and Pradeep E Ragav as the editor.
