After five days of consistently performing well at the box office, Vignesh Shivan's latest film Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) headlined by Pradeep Ranganathan, has witnessed a major dip in revenue. After earning Rs 22.70 crore in its first weekend at the box office in India, the sci-fi romantic comedy saw the collections drop to Rs 3 crore on Monday which increased to Rs 4.15 crore on Tuesday. However, the film seems to have witnessed a mid week slump as the revenue came down to Rs 1.95 crore on Wednesday. This brings total India gross collections to Rs 36.52 crore and total India net to Rs 31.60 crore so far.

Besides Pradeep, Krithi Shetty, and SJ Suryah also star in lead roles in LIK. Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj and Sunil Reddy, among others play supporting roles.

Vignesh Shivan: For me, LIK became a blockbuster the moment it opened in theatres

LIK, set in 2040, revolves around Suriyan's (SJ Suryah) eponymous app that monitors the love lives of couples and helps them insure their relationships. When his new app feature 'love score' hints at a failure in his relationship with Dheema (Krithi Shetty), Pradeep Ranganathan's Vibe Vassey is determined to prove it wrong and thwart the plans of Suriyan.

Upon release, the film received mixed reviews. Our CE review of the film read, "Love Insurance Kompany introduces a lot of promising ideas only to suffer a dramatic fall, more dramatic than the film itself. Like Gen Z films that make token cultural references, LIK has refurbished the overdone social media interface with a specious futurism."

Anirudh has scored music for LIK, continuing his collaboration with Vignesh Shivan. The crew of the film also includes Ravi Varman as the director of photography, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor. It is jointly produced by Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio.
