At the Mr X pre-release event, Sarath Kumar shared anecdotes from the sets of the Manu Anand directorial, how the director designed a specific look for him in the film, and more.

Sarath Kumar shared the research that went behind the script of Mr X. "When Manu Anand first narrated the story to me, I thought he was just pitching something to convince me to act. But he had solid research papers to back it up. The moment I glanced through two or three pages, I realised the immense effort he had put in, and I immediately agreed to be a part of the film," he said.

On his look and role in the film, he shared, "Mr X is my 172nd film. In all these years, I have played a variety of roles, including that of a grandfather, but this is a distinctly different character. The director fulfilled his wish by giving me a look with white hair and a white beard."

The Suryavamsam actor was in high praise of his co-stars in the film. He commended their performances by saying, "Both Arya and Gautham Ram Karthik have put in tremendous effort for their roles, and Gautham will be seen in a very different light in this film. Since Manju Warrier has played a role where she leads all of us, it feels appropriate to address her as ‘ma’am'."

On espionage and the sacrifices spies make for the country, he added, "Soldiers who fight in wars receive honours like the Param Vir Chakra. But those who work as spies, living abroad to protect our country, remain unknown. They cannot reveal their identity—not even to their own spouses. If we are to honour such faceless heroes, it can only be through films like this."

Mr X also stars Athulyaa Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Jayaprakash, Kaali Venkat, and Anagha. The technical crew of Mr X consists of Arul Vincent cranking the camera, Dhibu Ninan Thomas composing music, and Prasanna GK handling the editing. Backed by Vineet Jain and S Lakshman Kumar, the film is co-produced by A Venkatesh.
