At the Mr X pre-release event on Thursday, actor Manju Warrier opened up about her experience working with the film's director Manu Anand, her role in the film, and more.
The actor revealed Manu Anand had a tough time trying to convince her to do the project. "Only after I joined the sets did Arya tell me that I was the last to come on board, Mr X. After Manu’s narration, I wanted to fully understand his vision, so I took time to read and explore the idea in depth. Since the story isn’t something we encounter in everyday life, I had several doubts—and I must admit, I asked Manu quite a few naïve questions," she explained, further expressing gratitude to the director for his patience. "But he was incredibly patient and addressed each one, which ultimately convinced me to take up the film.
On her role in the film, she continued, "In most spy films, women are often confined to being the love interest, but I’m grateful to have a substantial role in Mr X. Manu has given every character layers and a strong backstory. I also got to perform more action than I usually do. I still have a few bruises from the shoot, but they’re a happy reminder of the experience.”
Mr X also stars Arya, Sarath Kumar, and Gautham Ram Karthik in crucial roles, with the rest of the star cast consisting of Athulyaa Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Jayaprakash, Kaali Venkat, and Anagha.
The technical crew of Mr X consists of Arul Vincent cranking the camera, Dhibu Ninan Thomas composing music, and Prasanna GK handling the editing. Backed by Vineet Jain and S Lakshman Kumar, the film is co-produced by A Venkatesh.
