It is well known that Arya's spy-thriller Mr X is releasing in theatres after a long delay on April 17. Ahead of its big screen debut, director Manu Anand has shared a few details on the plot of the upcoming film.
In a recent interview, the FIR filmmaker compared a few portions of the movie to the latest hit Dhurandhar: The Revenge, saying, "In Ranveer Singh's film, there are different episodes like 'Unknown Men', Politician's 'Wrangler' and more. All of them are based on real incidents like demonetisation which happened in India. He (Aditya Dhar) has pieced them all together to make an engaging screenplay. More or less, this is what we have also done."
He further added, "In 2022-23 itself, we had locked the screenplay which is based on incidents that happened in the country. That's how this story was formed."
Explaining further details, he said, "The film begins with an incident that happened in the 1960s. Ever since I read it, I felt like it was akin to a James Bond film. That's where the spark for the movie started. I wrote it during the pandemic days. A collection of all those espionage-related incidents forms Mr X."
The film also stars Manju Warrier, Sarath Kumar, and Gautham Ram Karthik in crucial roles, with the rest of the star cast consisting of Athulyaa Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Jayaprakash, Kaali Venkat, and Anagha.
In a previous conversation with CE, Manu said that Mr X would revolve around two individuals, played by Arya and Gautham, who embark on a journey towards a common mission. The film unfolds with how their decisions lead them to a situation and how they come out of it," he said, adding that Mr X also explores father-son emotions.
The technical crew of Mr X consists of Arul Vincent cranking the camera, Dhibu Ninan Thomas composing music, and Prasanna GK handling the editing. Backed by Vineet Jain and S Lakshman Kumar, the film is co-produced by A Venkatesh.
