Arya's long-delayed Mr X has finally locked a release window. The film, which went on floors in 2023, wrapped shooting in June 2024. Since then, the film met with controversies and several delays before Prince Pictures, the banner backing the film confirmed on Friday that it would hit screens this month. An exact date is yet to be revealed by the makers.

While the plot details of the film directed by Manu Anand are yet to be shared, the teaser, released in 2025 showed dormant secret agents springing into action after being activated when a nuclear device goes missing from India. The film will revolve around how much the agents can be trusted with this operation. Manu's previous film, FIR, was also an espionage thriller, which dealt with the themes of betrayal and trust in the context of Islamophobia.

The film also stars Manju Warrier, Sarath Kumar, and Gautham Ram Karthik in crucial roles, with the rest of the star cast consisting of Athulyaa Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Jayaprakash, Kaali Venkat, and Anagha.

In a previous conversation with CE, Manu said that Mr X would be an action drama. "The story revolves around two individuals, played by Arya and Gautham, who embark on a journey towards a common mission. The film unfolds with how their decisions lead them to a situation and how they come out of it," he said, adding that Mr X also explores father-son emotions.

The technical crew of Mr X consists of Arul Vincent cranking the camera, Dhibu Ninan Thomas composing music, and Prasanna GK handling the editing. Backed by Vineet Jain and S Lakshman Kumar, the film is co-produced by A Venkatesh.
