Rajinikanth’s Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has wrapped up its first week at the domestic box office with an impressive ₹222.5 crore. However, the film’s collections have seen a steady decline after its record-breaking opening weekend.

According to trade estimates from Sacnilk.com, the film earned about ₹6.5 crore on Day 7, a notable drop compared to the ₹9.5 crore it collected on Tuesday. The first Monday had already witnessed a sharp fall to ₹12 crore following the extended Independence Day weekend.

Here’s how Coolie fared in its first week: ₹65 crore on Day 1, ₹54.75 crore on Day 2, ₹39.5 crore on Day 3, ₹35.25 crore on Day 4, ₹12 crore on Day 5, ₹9.5 crore on Day 6, and finally ₹6.5 crore on Day 7.

Despite the dip, the film’s overall performance firmly places it among the year’s biggest blockbusters, surpassing the ₹220-crore milestone in just a week. With competition from War 2 affecting its numbers, it remains to be seen how Coolie will hold up in its second week.

This action drama also marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth and his sixth directorial outing. The film features a powerhouse supporting cast, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Rachita Ram. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, with Girish Gangadharan behind the camera and Philomin Raj on the edit table.

An excerpt from Cinema Express’ review reads: “The reliable Anirudh is effective in most portions, giving the film the right amount of intrigue and massiness, and overcompensates for the contrivances in the narrative when all the cards are laid on the table. For a film that wants to rely more on the emotional journey of a loner coming to terms with loss and longing, Coolie takes too long a time to get there.”
