We had previously reported that Lokesh Kanagaraj is working on his first project as the lead, directed by Arun Matheswaran. For the yet-to-be-titled film, Lokesh had reportedly undertaken intense martial arts training in Thailand. Actor Vasanth Ravi, who had worked in Arun's debut directorial Rocky, had recently revealed a few details about the film that the duo are collaborating on.

In an exclusive interview with Cinema Express ahead of his upcoming film Indra, Vasanth Ravi said that he will happily work with Arun again if an opportunity arises. Speaking on Lokesh and Arun's project, he said, "An official announcement on their film is expected soon. Arun is one of the most prominent directors in Tamil cinema. He has a unique style in his filmmaking which I have not seen with anyone else. Arun really likes dark films. Knowing him, his film with Lokesh will be in similar tones."

When probed if Arun spoke with Vasanth Ravi on the new film, he replied, "I didn't ask about it, but when I last met him, he spoke to me about the Ilaiyaraaja biopic with Dhanush. Since that is getting delayed, I feel Arun has taken this up. He still has a rich repository of stories with him, most of which are in dark tones or is a gangster-based story. I think that would have synced with Lokesh for him to say yes to the film. It will be interesting to watch it unfold on screens."

Reports indicate that Lokesh will wrap Arun's film before starting production on his next directorial venture, Kaithi 2, starring Karthi. Following Kaithi 2Lokesh is set to collaborate with Aamir Khan on a superhero film.

Although Vasanth Ravi's character is killed in Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, speculations are rife about his involvement in the sequel which is currently filming in full swing. Indra director Sabarish Nanda jokingly noted that the actor was not in town last week for four days and three days a week prior to that. "Till date, I have not received any call from the team. I don't know if I am there in the film myself," Vasanth Ravi stated.

Vasanth Ravi's Indra also stars Kalyan, Sunil, Mehreen Pirzada, Anikha Surendran and Rajkumar in prominent roles. The long-delayed film, helmed by Sabarish Nanda, is slated for release in theatres on August 22.

Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie is having a dream run at the box office, earning over Rs 400 crore worldwide.
