Composer Arijit Singh has been gaining plenty of attention from the entertainment industry and beyond ever since his retirement from playback singing. Arijit's peers from the film industry have been singing praises of him ever since he shook the world with his retirement announcement. The latest to commend the singer is music director Lalit Pandit, most popular for his work on the Salman Khan starrer Dabangg.

Speaking to ANI, Lalit said that none of the singers who came into the Hindi film industry in the recent past are as talented as Arijit. The Dabangg composer opined that Arijit contributes much to his songs, including with respect to the standard of singing, voice quality, style, and expression. According to him, nobody has as deep a voice as Arijit in the film industry. "He outshines everyone," he said, referring to the legendary singer.

On the other hand, Anuradha Paudwal, also a singer, spoke about Arijit's sudden retirement from the field of playback singing. Terming his decision excellent, Anuradha commended Arijit for taking the brave call at a time when he is at the peak of his powers. She said that it takes much mental strength and stability to make such a decision when one is on a career high and that Arijit does not do anything for the sake of name and fame.

While wishing everyone a happy New Year on social media, Arijit Singh made the big announcement in January. " I am happy to announce that I am not going to be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey," the singer wrote.

Arijit made his debut in Hindi cinema with 'Phir Mohabbat' from 2011's Murder 2, starring Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez. His fame rose by leaps and bounds after the release of the song 'Tum Hi Ho' from 2013's Aashiqui 2, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. His other popular tracks include 'Channa Mereya' from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, 'Agar Tum Saath Ho' from Tamasha, and 'Kesariya' from Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.
