The other day, we reported about Arijit Singh announcing his decision to retire as a playback singer. Since then, many from the field of entertainment and beyond have been expressing their love and admiration for Arijit and their disappointment about his decision.

Chinmayi Sripaada also shared her thoughts about Arijit's choice to move away from the field of playback singing. Chinmayi recalled her meeting with Arijit at a time that predates the release of his song 'Tum Hi Ho' from Aashiqui 2. "I remember meeting Arijit when he recorded me for Pritam sir - and I remember telling him how he is not ruling Bollywood or something - Tum Hi Ho hadn't released then. I worked with him a few times after he became the most in demand singer and nothing had changed," Chinmayi wrote about the singer, also known for 'Agar Tum Saath Ho' from Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Calling Arijit Singh one of her "favourite musicians and singers," Chinmayi highlighted the personal qualities of his that appealed to her. According to her, Arijit is "one of the finest, and I daresay, spiritually evolved human beings" that she has come across.

"I always felt he is someone who worked and operated from a higher calling; whatever he has planned for himself as a musician would be nothing short of divine," she added.

Speaking of which, earlier today, Arijit explained his decision to quit playback singing. Essentially, he attributed it to a sense of boredom stemming from repetition in his work.

Arjit's upcoming work is a patriotic track, titled ‘Maatrubhumi’, from the Salman Khan starrer Battle of Galwan.
