The Ba***ds of Bollywood (Netflix): Aryan Khan makes his debut as a director in this show that is set in the starry world of Bollywood. It tells the story of an outsider actor, Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya), who wants to make it big in the industry. He signs a film with Karan Johar and is set to star alongside, Karishma (Sahher Bammba), the daughter of superstar Ajay Talvar (Bobby Deol), who doesn’t want the collaboration to take place for he wishes for a better debut for her. Along with his best friend, Pervaiz (Raghav Juyal), his manager Sanya (Anya Singh) and uncle Avtar (Manoj Pahwa), Aasmaan navigates the tipsy-turvy world of stardom. Featuring guest appearances from Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and others, the show is created and directed by Aryan, who has written it with Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan. It was released on Netflix on September 18.
The Trial Season 2 (JioHotstar): Next up on Hindi OTT this week is this thrilling courtroom where Kajol returns as the passionate lawyer, Noyonika as the new season sets off from where the first ended. The marriage between her and Rajiv (Jisshu Sengupta) gets messier with Noyonika pressing for divorce. Meanwhile Rajiv doesn’t want to jeopardise his political career and tries to convince her not to leave him. Noyonika also takes on newer cases, fighting for her clients in the courtroom while also navigating her family responsibilities. Directed by Umesh Bisht, the show also stars Sonali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chaddha, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait, Gaurav Pandey, and Karanvir Sharma in pivotal roles. The first season of the show aired in 2023 and was helmed by Suparn Varma. It is adapted from the American show, The Good Wife.
