Actor Tanushree Dutta took to social media to share a video alleging that she has been harassed in her own house since the 2018 #MeToo movement. Tanushree said that she has been dealing with loud noises at odd hours at her home and has developed Chronic fatigue syndrome due to the stress and anxiety that its causing.
She shared a video where she broke down, saying, “I am being harassed in my own house. I just called the cops and they have asked me to come to the police station to lodge a proper complaint. I am not well. I have been harassed so much in the past five years that I have fallen sick.”
In another post, the actor shared a video of the loud noises and banging outside her home, which she said has been going since 2020. She also wrote that she is tired of complaining to the building management about it. “Now I just live with it and put headphones with Hindu mantras to distract my mind and keep my sanity. Today I was so unwell, as you guys know I have developed Chronic fatigue syndrome due to dealing with constant stress and anxiety for last 5 years and this was going on all day and evening way past acceptable and allowed hours,” she said.
Tanushree also recalled instances when her domestic help was told to harass her. She said that there were attempts of theft and tampering with her drinking water and how she had caught her house help making phone calls to someone before entering her home. The actor added that she is going to file a complaint with the police in this matter.
In 2018, Tanushree had accused actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassing her on the sets of the 2009 film, Horn 'Ok' Pleassss. She had also accused The Kashmir Files (2022) director Vivek Agnihotri of inappropriate behavior during the filming of his 2005 film, Chocolate. Her public accusations initiated the #MeToo movement in India.
