Nana Patekar opened up recently about his anger issues and says that acting gave him an outlet to it, and that otherwise he would have been in the underworld. He also reflected on the time when he yelled at Sanjay Leela Bhansali while working with him on Khamoshi: The Musical.

In an interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Nana said, “People were scared of me. I was too violent. I didn’t speak much, I would let my actions do the talking. I am less violent now. But, even today, if someone triggers me, I end up beating them up. If I had not become an actor, I would have been in the underworld. I am not kidding. I am extremely serious about this. Acting gave me an outlet. This became a way of me taking out my frustration. I have beaten up a lot of people. I don’t remember many of their names. I have had a lot of fights.”

Speaking about the fight he had with Bhansali, “There are possibilities of me returning to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but I guess the way I yelled at him, he must have felt bad. We didn’t work after that. Not that the fight made any difference in our respective lives.”

He added, “I do miss working with Sanjay, but the problem is I am very rude. I use extremely harsh words. It must have upset him. However, I never tried to clarify anything with him. What is the use of having known each other for so long, if we have to explain these little things to each other? I don’t even see it as my fault. Let’s see, we will sort it out when the time comes.”

Nana will be seen next in Anil Sharma’s family-drama Vanvaas which is set for a December 20 release in theatres.
