On Thursday, two weeks after the theatrical release of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, actor, director and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan praised the film. He shared his applause for the film on the occasion of Nolan's 56th birthday on Thursday.

Interestingly, he shared the review on Instagram along with the title poster of The Odyssey, which included a tagline, "an experience of Kamal Haasan." In the caption, he wrote, "Homer dreamt it. Nolan dared it. I applauded it. Children of cinema, this film belongs to the ages. Must watch!"

Further, the Thug Life actor hinted at a possible documentary-like video about his experience watching The Odyssey. "As The Odyssey continues its epic voyage across the world, my ode will greet audiences in theatres in India. I’ll share it here soon," he wrote, without revealing what kind of video he is to share. He further jibed, "P.S. The CBFC got the first preview! It approved."

The Odyssey stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Samantha Morton, and Charlize Theron, among others in lead roles. The film, adapted from, Homer's ancient Greek epic poem the Odyssey, tells the story of Odysseus, the Greek king of Ithaca, who attempts to return home and unite with his wife, Penelope, after winning the Trojan War, but undergoes a long and perilous journey, encountering mythical beings.

The film opened in theatres on July 17 and received critical acclaim. On the box office front, the film has earned Rs 132.5 crore in India alone and is inching towards collecting Rs 7000 crore worldwide.

Last seen in Thug Life, Kamal Haasan is currently filming for the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. He has KH 237, the directorial debut of Anbariv, in the pipeline. He is also set to join hands with Rajinikanth for KHxRK reunion, helmed by Nelson. The film will mark their first onscreen collaboration in more than four decades. Recent reports suggested that the actor might collaborate with SU Arun Kumar for his next, but the official announcement is awaited.
