During its CinemaCon presentation, Disney revealed that Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones are a part of the voice cast of the studio's upcoming animated film, Hexed. Previously, the film was announced at the Destination D23 event in Orlando, Florida, by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ chief creative officer Jared Bush.

According to its logline, Hexed follows “an awkward teenage boy and his type-A mom, who discover that what makes him unusual might just be magical powers that will turn their lives—and a secret world of magic—upside down".

The film will be directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones attached as producers. While Trinidad was previously head of story on Ralph Breaks the Internet and Zootopia, Hand is the co-director of Moana 2 and head of story of Encanto.

Steinfeld recently welcomed her first child with Josh Allen on April 2. Last seen in Asteroid and Sinners, she has Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in the pipeline. Some of her popular credits include True Grit, for which she received an Oscar nomination; The Edge of Seventeen; and Pitch Perfect, among others.

Jones will next be seen in Good Sex, directed by Lena Dunham, starring alongside Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Tucker Pillsbury, and Tramell Tillman. As a writer, she co-wrote Olivia Wilde's The Invite with Will McCormack, which is set to open in theatres on June 26. Some of her other known work includes Parks and Recreation, The Muppets, and On The Rocks, among others.

Hexed is slated to debut in theatres on November 25, 2026. Disney also exhibited footage from the live-action Moana, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Toy Story 5 and Avengers: Doomsday at its presentation in Las Vegas at CinemaCon.
