The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was released at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to thunderous applause. Previous teasers showed the return of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), offered a first look at Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and the X-Men, including Charles Xavier/Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Scott Summers/Cyclops (James Marsden)--- all joining hands to defeat Dr Doom.
Now, the trailer shows first look at Robert Downey Jr as Dr Doom with his classic green-hooded suit as he all set to create havoc by invading into the multiverse. Professor Xavier instantly realises that sinister activities are brewing as he looks out of his mansion. According to reports from Variety, the video showcases glimpses of Gambit (Channing Tatum) and Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) battling; Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) transforming into Yelena Belova, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Doom fighting. But it looks like Doom has the upper hand as he catches Thor's magical hammer.
One of the biggest scenes arrives when Steve Rogers joins hands once again with Thor. Doomsday brings all the major stars and Marvel heroes including X-Men, Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts. The Fantastic Four also meet the new Avengers (Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Sentry, Ghost, Red Guardian and U.S. Agent) which is followed by a intense face off between the Wakandans and Namor’s underwater Talokans.
Dr Doom aka Downey Jr has lent his voice as the narrator to some portions of the trailer.
As reported earlier, Anthony and Joe Russo are directing the film which is written by written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. Avengers Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will conclude the Multiverse saga of the MCU.
While Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026, Secret Wars will hit theatres on December 17, 2027.
